As a leader of the children's group at church, we have an annual meeting in January for all the kids who will turn 8 the following year. We talk about baptism - why it's important and how they can prepare for it. (In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, kids are able to be baptized after they turn 8, the age they are aware and mature enough to make a big decision like that and to be accountable for their choices. It's a very special time for them, and always great to celebrate them.) My friends who lead the group of kids with me put together this Great to Be 8 meeting for the kids, and it was really special. We had some speakers and a discussion about baptism. We had desserts and fruit afterwards. My friend made these adorable 8 shaped sugar cookies. Jaime made me these adorable prints to frame.
