Ren's baptism.

Turning 8 is a big deal around here. We are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and in our faith, when you turn 8, you are old enough to choose to be baptized. I wanted my son's baptism to be simple but still beautiful. I also wanted it to feel somewhat masculine, as he's a boy and wouldn't want it to be overly pretty. Haha. My sister, Jaime, designed the invite for me. I loved how it turned out. I had her use the colors white, green, and brown, to match the background of the photo. And those colors inspired the rest of the baptism's decorations and feel. I saw a similar print on pinterest like this one, and Jaime changed the font and colors a bit to match the scheme I was going for. (One of Ren's favorite songs is one called "I Am A Child of God", so I thought it'd be nice to print this out and frame it for the table.) I found these small golden CTR shields online as well and printed them out for favor bag tags. (CTR s...

Kid's bedroom series: Ren's Hulk themed wall gallery.

Ren's Hulk room is a work in progress. It is just about where I want it to be, thanks to this gallery finally being up. Ren and I chose the photos together for his wall. I wanted some of him with his brother and sister, and he wanted one with Cate, his cousin. My sister Jaime designed the prints. I love them. The Hulk piggy bank is from a store in Seaport Village (San Diego) called American Nostalgia. I think you can buy it online, too.   The sand timer I found randomly at TJ Maxx. I love it in this gallery. (When I first brought it home I teased Ren that it would be his time out timer.)  One of my favorite photos of Ren. Completely captures his sweetness.   I love this print. The font is awesome. I will post the rest of Ren's room soon. I just have a few more items to hang for it to be complete.

Ren's Hulk Smash party!

When my son, Ren, turned 4, he was certain he had to have a Hulk themed birthday party. He is crazy about the Hulk. It turned out to be such a fun party to plan. I had a lot of help from my sister, Jaime, who designed his invite and all the printables for the party. It all started with this photo I took of Ren making his best Hulk face. Jaime turned it into this awesome birthday invite. The sign on the front door. We had minimal decorations up. My nieces helped with the balloons on the banister while I frantically put last minute food items on the table. I think my favorite thing out of the whole party: an "Eat. Smash. Repeat." sign my sister designed for the food table. I loved how the green/purple/black theme came together.  The punch was lime sherbet, lime slices, and Sprite. It was pretty tasty.   We played a version of Pin the Tail on the Donkey - Paint the Green on Hulk with green finger paint.  The birthday...
