My kids' Valentines.

I was really last minute this year getting my kids' Valentines ready.. thank heavens for pinterest and my sis!! She designed these ones for my oldest, who is obsessed with all things Star Wars.

I love them so much.

I found these next ones on Pinterest.. my middle kiddo is all about sports and just didn't want anything too lovey dovey or weird.. haha. So, these fit the bill perfectly.. we added some bubble gum, and voila.

And my girlie girl loved these that we found in the Target dollar section.. some came with kitty cat erasers, and we bought stickers for some..

Some years I'm more with it when it comes to Valentines.. but I am all about keeping it simple when life is busy and time doesn't permit a lot of creativity. Really, I think the kids enjoy them either way.

And speaking of enjoying the holiday.. my sweet husband gave me this adorable card and flowers.. I'm always begging him for a puppy or kitten, so the card was very fitting..

We also enjoyed a dinner out together that was so delicious.. this chocolate molten lava cake with vanilla bean ice cream and raspberry coulis was amazing.

Loved it. Love him.

Friendship themed Relief Society Dinner.

I spent a lot of time planning for our big Relief Society dinner/Visiting Teaching Conference. After tossing around a lot of ideas, I finally settled on the theme of friendship. I saw this Mary Engelbreit illustration and quote that I loved, and it became the basis for the whole night. I had so much help from Jaime, my sis. She designed these awesome invitations and helped me so much as I planned the décor . Another sweet friend, Katie, helped me with the food.. we decided to have it catered by Kneaders. We had to go eat there to really look at everything and decide.. ;) We even tried some desserts just to be sure.. it was fun, fun!! I bought this adorable polka dot teapot there that I just knew I wanted to use. Another dear friend, Sarah, who is crazy talented by the way, went with me to Hobby Lobby and The Dollar Store with me for frames, vases, and other décor.. we found these adorable artificial fruits that ended up being perfect for the theme. Party 101.

I remember when my oldest son was 4 years old, and I wanted to plan a birthday party for him. I was overwhelmed with how to go about planning a birthday party for little kids. I wasn't sure where to start. All I knew was that he really wanted a Thomas the Train theme. Cohen, at his Thomas party. Up until then, we had always done birthday parties with family only, and they were simply eating a meal (often at a restaurant), opening presents, and having cake. This would be our first friend birthday party, where we'd have to plan activities and food for all the kids. I so wanted to have a party that was memorable for my son and his friends. I emailed a friend of mine and asked her for advice. She gave me some great tips that I've used in all my parties since. My twin sister, Jaime, also has been a great source to turn to. Kid's bedroom series: Cohen's Captain America themed wall gallery.

Cohen's gallery wall is up! It's taken me a while to gather everything and get it up the way I envisioned. I love these photos from Cohen's baptism day so much; I had to include them. And here's his brother print my sis designed. Love it so much. The Captain America piggy bank is from the same American Nostalgia store I mentioned in my previous post. That store was so fun! I had a hard time limiting my purchases when I was there. The photo here of the boys at Mission Beach looking for sand crabs is one of my all time favorites of them. This geometric canvas I found just recently at Target. I also bought a green version for Ren's room, of course. I will post more pics of Cohen's rooms soon. It is almost complete! Wahoo!
