Graduation Party.

A few friends and I wanted to throw a small graduation party for our boys, who graduated from 8th grade. We wished it could be a larger gathering, but we wanted to keep it small with all the COVID-19 concerns right now. Avery and I went to Michael's to find some party supplies. They had a great selection of things that worked.

She loved this grad hat headband. So cute and funny, too.

I made these egg free chocolate cupcakes and topped them with these toppers and class of 2020 stickers.

My friends put this awesome balloon arch together while I worked on the banners over the dessert table.

My man child. He's growing up too fast!

Here's the dessert table. We had balloons in the boys' school colors and a Congratulations banner I made from supplies at Michael's. They sell the plain white triangle pages and letter stickers, which makes it so easy to put together.

We used a white tablecloth and silver confetti ont the table, as well as black, gray, and white plates and such. I loved these cookies I found at the grocery store bakery. Their colors were perfect.

And how adorable are these colored dum dums? They are from Michael's, too!

We put a toddler as well as a recent pic of each boy on the table, which added a fun personal touch.

This cute class of 2020 star was a sticker I just stuck right to my cupcake stand.

My friend made these adorable candy/money leis for each boy. So fun. We are so proud of these boys!!

Kid's bedroom series: Cohen's Captain America themed wall gallery.

Cohen's gallery wall is up! It's taken me a while to gather everything and get it up the way I envisioned. I love these photos from Cohen's baptism day so much; I had to include them. And here's his brother print my sis designed. Love it so much. The Captain America piggy bank is from the same American Nostalgia store I mentioned in my previous post. That store was so fun! I had a hard time limiting my purchases when I was there. The photo here of the boys at Mission Beach looking for sand crabs is one of my all time favorites of them. This geometric canvas I found just recently at Target. I also bought a green version for Ren's room, of course. I will post more pics of Cohen's rooms soon. It is almost complete! Wahoo!

Friendship themed Relief Society Dinner.

I spent a lot of time planning for our big Relief Society dinner/Visiting Teaching Conference. After tossing around a lot of ideas, I finally settled on the theme of friendship. I saw this Mary Engelbreit illustration and quote that I loved, and it became the basis for the whole night. I had so much help from Jaime, my sis. She designed these awesome invitations and helped me so much as I planned the décor . Another sweet friend, Katie, helped me with the food.. we decided to have it catered by Kneaders. We had to go eat there to really look at everything and decide.. ;) We even tried some desserts just to be sure.. it was fun, fun!! I bought this adorable polka dot teapot there that I just knew I wanted to use. Another dear friend, Sarah, who is crazy talented by the way, went with me to Hobby Lobby and The Dollar Store with me for frames, vases, and other décor.. we found these adorable artificial fruits that ended up being perfect for the theme. Party 101.

I remember when my oldest son was 4 years old, and I wanted to plan a birthday party for him. I was overwhelmed with how to go about planning a birthday party for little kids. I wasn't sure where to start. All I knew was that he really wanted a Thomas the Train theme. Cohen, at his Thomas party. Up until then, we had always done birthday parties with family only, and they were simply eating a meal (often at a restaurant), opening presents, and having cake. This would be our first friend birthday party, where we'd have to plan activities and food for all the kids. I so wanted to have a party that was memorable for my son and his friends. I emailed a friend of mine and asked her for advice. She gave me some great tips that I've used in all my parties since. My twin sister, Jaime, also has been a great source to turn to.
