I updated my Easter décor with a few things from Target this year.. I bought a new banner. I loved the pink tassels and golden letters. I also bought the turquoise "happy" sign and the pink striped egg.  I love having this felt board to put up quotes or scriptures for each holiday. And there you have it.. Easter can officially come our way now. Can't wait. It's one of my very favorite holidays.

Turning 8 is a big deal around here. We are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and in our faith, when you turn 8, you are old enough to choose to be baptized. I wanted my son's baptism to be simple but still beautiful. I also wanted it to feel somewhat masculine, as he's a boy and wouldn't want it to be overly pretty. Haha. My sister, Jaime, designed the invite for me. I loved how it turned out. I had her use the colors white, green, and brown, to match the background of the photo. And those colors inspired the rest of the baptism's decorations and feel. I saw a similar print on pinterest like this one, and Jaime changed the font and colors a bit to match the scheme I was going for. (One of Ren's favorite songs is one called "I Am A Child of God", so I thought it'd be nice to print this out and frame it for the table.) I was really last minute this year getting my kids' Valentines ready.. thank heavens for pinterest and my sis!! She designed these ones for my oldest, who is obsessed with all things Star Wars. I love them so much.  I found these next ones on Pinterest.. my middle kiddo is all about sports and just didn't want anything too lovey dovey or weird.. haha. So, these fit the bill perfectly.. we added some bubble gum, and voila.  And my girlie girl loved these that we found in the Target dollar section.. some came with kitty cat erasers, and we bought stickers for some.. Some years I'm more with it when it comes to Valentines.. but I am all about keeping it simple when life is busy and time doesn't permit a lot of creativity. Really, I think the kids enjoy them either way. And speaking of enjoying the holiday.. my sweet husband gave me this adorable card and flowers.. I'm always begging him for a puppy or kitten, so the card was very fitting.. ...

One of Avery's sweet friends, Baylee, had an adorable puppy themed birthday party that I wanted to share with you all. Baylee recently got a new puppy, so this party was a perfect choice for her. (And Avery is just a tad bit obsessed with dogs, so she was ecstatic to attend this party!) It was seriously so cute. My friend, Angie, did such a great job putting it all together. Every detail was perfectly pink and girly and puppy! When the girls arrived, they each found a cute brown box with their very own stuffed animal puppy inside that Baylee had chosen specifically for each of her friends. Then, the girls made their puppies collars with beads. I loved the letter beads. They each got to put the first initial of their puppy on their collar... so cute!  I love Valentine's Day.. I'm one of those girls.. maybe because my husband always spoils me, and maybe because I'm a chocoholic and love fresh flowers? Probably both. So, I found myself in the Target dollar spot last week (I love that I say that like it's a complete accident.. like someone drugged me and dropped me there without my permission. haha.. we all know I go there with full intent of splurging enough that it doesn't really matter that it's $3 or $5... it adds up, I know.) But, back to my story. I was there last week, and I kind of fell in love with a lot of things. But I was somewhat frugal (one of my New Year's resolutions, mind you), and I narrowed down my wants to two things: a tulle banner and a cute striped heart push pin board.  If you look closely, you'll see that the gold push pins are actually little gold X's and O's. We wanted to throw a Gingerbread Decorating Party this year. Jaime made this adorable invite for us.  I glued these graham cracker houses together with a hot glue gun. (Looking back I'm sure I could've found other ways to do it so they were totally edible, but this way was easy and somewhat fast and very sturdy, so I went with it.) Each family that came brought a few bags of candy and an appetizer to share. It was a blast! The adults and kids had a great time. I had to laugh when I saw my kids' houses. Each one described them so well.
